Isaiah 62

Zion's Coming Salvation

1. For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, 1 and for Jerusalem's sake I will not be quiet, 1 until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, 1 and her salvation as a burning torch.

2. The nations shall see your righteousness, 2 and all the kings your glory, 2 and you shall be called by a new name 2 that the mouth of the Lord will give.

3. You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, 3 and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

4. You shall no more be termed Forsaken,[a] 4 and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,[b] 4 but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,[c] 4 and your land Married;[d] 4 for the Lord delights in you, 4 and your land shall be married.

5. For as a young man marries a young woman, 5 so shall your sons marry you, 5 and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, 5 so shall your God rejoice over you.

6. On your walls, O Jerusalem, 6 I have set watchmen; 6 all the day and all the night 6 they shall never be silent. 6 You who put the Lord in remembrance, 6 take no rest,

7. and give him no rest 7 until he establishes Jerusalem 7 and makes it a praise in the earth.

8. The Lord has sworn by his right hand 8 and by his mighty arm: 8 “I will not again give your grain 8 to be food for your enemies, 8 and foreigners shall not drink your wine 8 for which you have labored;

9. but those who garner it shall eat it 9 and praise the Lord, 9 and those who gather it shall drink it 9 in the courts of my sanctuary.”[e]

10. Go through, go through the gates; 10 prepare the way for the people; 10 build up, build up the highway; 10 clear it of stones; 10 lift up a signal over the peoples.

11. Behold, the Lord has proclaimed 11 to the end of the earth: 11 Say to the daughter of Zion, 11 “Behold, your salvation comes; 11 behold, his reward is with him, 11 and his recompense before him.”

12. And they shall be called The Holy People, 12 The Redeemed of the Lord; 12 and you shall be called Sought Out, 12 A City Not Forsaken.
